THE VILLAGE APIARY
The Village Apiary began at genbe. with a small colony of Italian honey bees, raised among the flowers, herbs, and vegetables growing on our own land. Throughout the seasons, the bees forage across the surrounding mountains and countryside, creating honey that reflects the changing landscape of Nozawa Onsen.
Our raw honey is harvested locally in small batches and left unfiltered to preserve its natural flavour and character. Alongside our honey, we create handcrafted beeswax products, including our all-purpose beeswax balm, with more seasonal products to come.
The Village Apiary is our way of supporting biodiversity, caring for the land, and sharing a little of Nozawa’s natural abundance—one jar, one balm, and one season at a time.
